Some hard racing today. Two good starts got me past the Europa and the mk2 BDG only to be swallowed up as my tyres seemed to go off causing oversteer on the right handers early in both races. Mirrors were full of Porsche and Escort going into the hairpin as I held them up for a few laps. The big Perana Capri added another well put together car on the grid and will soon be making progress. Twink had his hands full with Nic Boyes in the Cooper S and then the 3 litre Capri in the second race.

Another pb lap time for me mainly due to development of the car in conjunction with Willie at WJG Autos in Cowdenbeath.

A big thannks for the photos, A hard fought day and managed to beat the mini and the capri in first race then had a fab start on the second then got a bit muddled with my gears in the trafic and lost the two places, One of the best drives yet . Will post both races soon as I had the Smrc Video on board for both races Thanks all its now Bed time :scot: :scot: :scot:

John was driving his brother's mk2, after blowing up a new BDX engine in his own mk1, to keep his championship hopes alive. The Classics are attracting some expensive machinery but the racing is closer down the field as the 400bhp/ton Morgan remains unchallenged for outright wins.

There's less damage, wear and tear on the car compared to rallying but there's more hanging about between races than a one day tarmac event. Qualifying for 8 mins then 2 x 10 lap races for £ 200.00 entry fee, not the cheapest form of motorsport but as long as the car stays in one piece a lot of fun can be had, especially in an Escort.
